Classified Employees of the Year
In an effort to pay tribute to efforts of California’s outstanding classified
school employees, the California Department of Education is inviting
participation in the Classified School Employee of the Year Program for 2009.
The state will honor six individuals—representing six distinct employment
categories—during Classified School Employee Week in May 2009. Nominations
(which must be submitted directly to the County Office of Education) are being
accepted now.
The six categories are: child nutrition; maintenance and operations; office
and technical; para-educator and instructional assistance; support services and
security; and transportation.
After receiving nominations, the Santa Clara County Office of Education will
submit one candidate in each of the six categories to the CDE for consideration.
If there are multiple nominations in a category, an SCCOE-appointed committee
will determine which one to forward to the CDE.
Applications forms and instructions are available at
www.cde.ca.gov/ta/sr/cl. Please mail
completed applications and letters of support by March 1, 2009 to:
SCCOE Communications Dept.
